Christmas Card 2007

Merry Christmas from the Creer Family

This year my mom delegated the “Christmas Letter” writing to me, the favorite daughter… so naturally, I delegated the task to the rest of the family.  Everyone has written a little something about what they have been doing this year.  We have tried to keep things interesting so that you might actually read the whole letter.  : )  I guess I will go first…

Katie:  I’m a sophomore at BYU this year and I’m majoring in Sociology.  I plan to eventually get my Master’s in Social Work and specialize in therapy for children.  Right now I work on campus as a Cleanliness Engineer early in the morning (I’m a custodian).  I got an adorable silver scooter in May and it’s so fun to ride. (Thank you, Parentals) It’s a Yamaha Vino 125cc and I have a pink helmet to go with it for safety (woohoo!).  I have a sweet blog if you want to keep updated on my life more regularly.  You can check it out at quasisbelltower.blogspot.com.   I’m still a big fan of Rubik’s cubes, ice cream, and photography.  Have a great Christmas!

Sam:  I am a junior/senior at Centennial.  I am taking double core classes so I can graduate from High School a year early.  Next year I want to go to SUU in Cedar City so I can get a year of college done before my mission.  Our soccer season just ended, we were 17-1-2.  We won division for the ninth year in a row!  I have been ready to go skiing since July.  By the end of the season I hope to land a 900.  It will be sweet!  I am a working stiff now and I work at Abercrombie.  I get paid to stand there, look good, and occasionally flex my muscles.  Haha!  Merry Christmas!

Riley:  ¡Hola Amigos!  This year I'm a freshman at Centennial High School.  GO BULLDOGS!!  I played soccer for Centennial this fall.  I started for the JV team and we had a great season with a record of 17-0. During the off season, I keep my skills at the pro level by playing on a club team, the Red Rock Raptors.  I'm WAY stoked for the ski season and can't wait to get up to the mountain.  I’m gonna conquer a 360 this winter…ya better watch out.  I’m already counting the days down until I’m 16 so I can drive and go on dates.  Happy Hanukkah!

The Parentals:  We are well and happy, what else can we say, life is good.  Our children take up most of our time and energy, the remainder of course is split between church and work.  We have nothing to complain about and everything to be grateful for!

There you have it… the Creer Family.  I hope this “Christmas Letter” finds your homes and families in good care.  Let your hearts be filled with love and kindness this Christmas Season.  May we all strive to be more like Christ and his perfect example of service this upcoming year.  Merry Christmas to each of you!  We send you our love!

Famiy Pictures

The quest for the Christmas Card Picture...

is very entertaining!

Enchanted...

We went to Enchanted for our Thanksgiving movie. I loved it, the boys barely tolerated it and Mike demoted me from picking the movie next year. It is definitely a chick flick, a lot of fun with a lot from Disney Princess movies in it. A Disney Princess lands in New York City and has fun adventures. The first part is animated (Mike was worried the whole movie was animated)but switches to live action. (Not my boy’s definition of live action). I will definitely buy the DVD and watch it by myself...maybe Katie will humor me.

Katie

Katie has been published, we are quite proud, go to the New Era, November issue, Page 16

“Church leaders are always giving us rules to follow. Isn’t it taking away our agency when they tell us what to do all the time?”

Rules are set in place ultimately by our Heavenly Father through our Church leaders. They are intended to protect us and give us more agency. For example, the Word of Wisdom protects us from becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol. The commandments help us maintain our agency that Satan is trying so hard to take away.

Sam living on the edge...but having the right answers.

Sweet Sam...
We were driving home from the wedding. (Saturday night late) We had the boy car with Mike and the boys and the girl car with Barb and Katie. Sam thought Mom was going to slow, so he was going to pass her and lead the way. Immediately out of nowhere a Highway Patrol appeared with those cute lights flashing. Mom and Katie pulled over also at the next exit.
Katie knew we needed to pray, for the Highway Patrol to have compassion. She prayed for us. Meanwhile Sam is chatting with the Highway Patrol... he is checking the license, insurance stuff. When the Highway Patrol comes back to the car, he asks Sam if there is any reason why he should not give him a ticket. Sam replys that he is just trying to get home so they can go to church tomorrow. The Patrol asks what church? Sam replys, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, We are LDS." Lucky for us the Patrolman was a Mormon also.
No ticket... We counted our blessings and slowed down.

Wedding Fun...

Bobby, Tara and Tonya
The three cute kids, they were troopers.

Riley got a yellow card....

I was a few minutes late to Riley's game and he was sitting on the bench...Sam asks him why??
Riley confessed that he had slide tackled a player and got more of the player than the ball. The coach was making him suffer and he sat out the rest of the half. Luckily the next game, he was forgiven and played the entire game!
