Today is my dad's 90th Birthday.
"Live the gospel as conspicuously as you can. Keep the covenants your children know you have made. Give priesthood blessings. And bear your testimony! Don’t just assume your children will somehow get the drift of your beliefs on their own. The prophet Nephi said near the end of his life that they had written their record of Christ and preserved their convictions regarding His gospel in order ‘to persuade our children … that our children may know … [and believe] the right way’"
( 2 Ne. 25:23, 26, 28).”
This is a great quote of my dad's life.
We have all known how he has felt about the church.
He has always been concerned about his children.
He has the theme No Empty Chairs
and he wants to make sure all his posterity is in the Celestial Kingdom with him.
He is always teaching his family,
today for his 90th Birthday he has sent us all a three page email teaching us the gospel.
It is amazing he is 90 and blind but he remembers all the family names.
He loves to hear about his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
If I don't call to read Sam's email fast enough, he is calling me to see how the letter was.
He has been an inspiration my whole life, he is very dedicated to the Gospel.
His family is very important him, he has spent lots of money on reunions.
We used to all go to Sun Valley, the Beach or other fun places together.
Then the family just got too big. (14 children, 86 granchildren, 144 great grandchildren)
So now every other year he takes all his children and spouses on a cruise together.
We have a wonderful time.
When it comes down to the important things in life,
Family really is it!
Love you Dad, Happy Birthday!
