Golden Spike Sesquicentennial Celebration

(artwork by my niece Alisa Bishop Bradley)

We live up in Train Country.
The transcontinental railroads 150th birthday party is a big deal.
They brought in some big trains to Ogden for the party.
We went to Union Station to see the Big Boy no. 4041.

"It’s longer than two city buses, weighs more than a Boeing 747 fully loaded with passengers and can pull 16 Statues of Liberty over a mountain."

We also saw the Living Legend Northern No. 844.

THEY WERE BIG!
The wheels were bigger than I am tall.

Early Sunday they were heading back to Wyoming.
We were total groupies and went to see the trains leave, with lots and lots of other people.

The tracks were lined with everyone trying to get a last view of the trains.

 Love celebrating history!

2019 Bradley Family Cruise

On the odd numbered years it is my siblings (and their spouses) cruise.
We are so grateful for the "Cruise Trust" my parents set up for us to continue this tradition.

There were 20 of us and we like to rearrange the deck chairs so we face each other.
More fun and chatting that way.

Luckily we are early risers to get the designated chairs,
Yes, it is a titch dark when we stake our claim and start the day!

There was this cute family with young children on the ship and they put their babies down for a nap while they went to lunch.  I had to take a picture, it reminded me of Gwen.

When we need a break from the sun we move to the tables in the shade,
always a new dessert to try, or a card game to play.

We did get off the ship in Cabo.  We like to walk and look at the boats and yachts.

We enjoyed the view of Puerto Vallarta from the ship.

Here are two views of Mazatlan from the two sides of the ship.
We enjoyed this view from our morning walk on the top of the ship.
We love those port days when everyone else gets off and the deck is not so crowded.

Susan had a birthday to celebrate!

We have our family group of tables in the dining room for dinner that we rotate among.
By the end of the week we have had the chance to visit with the whole family crew.

Our favorite post dinner activity is card games at our spot in the back of the buffet.

The last day was cold and windy, we found a few empty tables in the back of the buffet.
We played cards, ate, discussed the next cruise location and just enjoyed beginning together.

The best part is we just enjoy being together!

Always need a picture of the whole group!
I love this group, one of my favorite things is our week together.

Cruising has such fabulous sunrises and sunsets.
