Had a call last night from this organization telling me all the wonders they do to help in the fight for Breast Cancer. Then they wanted money. I mentioned I had not heard of them before. I do think Breast Cancer is a cause worthy of donation. I asked how much of the donation went to the actual cause... she mumbled... 10%. I asked her to repeat it.
...10% of their donations actually go to help Woman with Breast Cancer... the other 90% go to their salaries etc for fundraising.
I told her I was not interested in helping their organization, The Woman to Woman Breast Cancer Foundation. What a lesson to learn about the people trying to get money for "Charity". Before you give your money you might want to check them out! There are some legitimate organizations (American Cancer Society - 73 % to the cause, Susan G. Komen for the cure - 87% for the cause) that really use most of the money they collect for the cause and do wonderful things. I am grateful for them, so I have donated to both of these worthy causes this year!
