Disneyland

We are having the time of our life
We have all our kids together for two weeks.
This week we are all reverting to our childhoods
and living it up at Disneyland!
Family is what it is all about.
What a treasure!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! We hope you have had a wonderful year. Here’s what we have been up to:
January- Riley broke his back doing fancy things while skiing. Luckily he made a full recovery; unluckily he missed the whole rest of the ski season. Jeremy got accepted to dental school.
February- Katie & Jeremy celebrated their 2 year wedding anniversary. Sam & Riley both got accepted into BYU. Sam hit his 18 month mark on the mission.
March- Jeremy turned 25. Katie “babysat” Riley for a week, while the parents partied on a cruise. Katie got accepted into grad school to get her Master’s in Social Work.
April- Mike & Barb celebrated their 26 years of marriage and they are still very much in love. Jeremy graduated from BYU with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. Sam sent a picture home of him and a donkey.
May- Katie & Jeremy went to Disneyland for a week. We talked to Sammy on Mother’s Day- yay! We all gathered in Southern Utah for some camping fun.
June- Riley graduated from high school, as a valedictorian no less. Katie ran a half marathon (13.1 miles). Jeremy ran 3 miles.
July- Katie & Jeremy came to Vegas for the 4th and we had a blast! Sam turned 21 & celebrated with a fun family in Florida. We went to Huntington Beach for some sun & roasted hot dogs & s’mores on the beach.
August- Katie & Jeremy moved across the country to Boston. Riley turned 19. We moved back to Utah and are living with Barb’s dad to help take care of him. Sam returned from his 2 year church mission in Florida. All the kids started school (Katie at Simmons College, Jeremy at Tufts University, and Sam & Riley at BYU). Whew… that was a busy month!
September- Katie came to Utah for Labor Day to see Sammy. Riley got called to serve a mission in Bangkok, Thailand. He reports to the MTC January 25, 2012. Katie turned 23.
October- We spent some time playing at the family ranch. Barb & Katie took up knitting again. All the kids did a lot of studying & paper writing.
November- Sam and Riley grew mustaches for “No-shave November.” We all ate LOTS of turkey & delicious pie.
December- We are heading to Disneyland for some major fun this Christmas.
We love celebrating Jesus Christ’s birth and the selfless life he lived.
May you all have a great year filled with lots of love and laughter!
Much LOVE- Mike, Barb, Katie, Jeremy, Sam, & Riley

Thanksgiving

We soaked the turkey in Brine... It was so moist.
We got the kids to peel potatoes.
While the turkey was cooking we went and saw the movie
Arthur Christmas.
It was darling, and got us in the Holiday mood.

We had lots of family...

We made a Grateful Tree...

Mike had a few naps...

We made a little Christmas Craft..
Chocolate Kisses Advent calendars.

I love Thanksgiving.
It is one Holiday that is not commercialized.
It is all about food and family,
and being grateful.
Life doesn't get much better than that.

Baking Wednesday

The day before Thanksgiving is always baking Wednesday...
We started the day with Pumpkin Muffins...the beginning of the Pumpkin Palooza

Then the baking began...

After all the baking... pizza is the tradition for dinner!

Shivers

These silly boys, we went to Shivers last Saturday.
A place we would frequent when the kids were all little,
They would love to eat in the train.
They decided to see if they could still get in the train.
Well they sorta still fit.

Springdale

On the way home from the Girls Weekend,
My sister and I went to Springdale for my Aunt's Funeral.
It was a gorgeous snowy day.
It was a wonderful funeral and fun to see all our cousins.
Funerals are great for reconnecting with family
