Mike had a Birthday, shout Hooray!

We spent the weekend in Park City, Mike's mom and sister happened to be there for the fun.
We went to Mike's favorite place for dinner, Red Banjo Pizza and then played some Five Crowns.

The boys went skiing, I did not get any pictures.
I was busy reading a good book.

We had the traditional Wafer Birthday Cake.
It was a great Celebration!

My Favorite Missionary....

This is my baby boy Riley.
His is my favorite Missionary serving in Thailand!
Rye has been out for a little over a year.
Right now he is way north in Nongkhai,
Just across the river from Laos.
A few weeks ago they sent 4 missionaries into Laos.
You can read about it here

He was able to perform his first baptism this week.
He was very excited, the two girls on the left front
asked Riley to baptize him.
They are sisters and he has been teaching them for a while.
I love getting letters from Riley it always makes my day!!

You can read Riley's blog for more of his adventures!

"Drug Failure"

"Drug Failure"

That is what my doctor called my last RA drug.
Drug Failure - it did not work.
Last night I tried my new drug, it will take a while to see if it works.
I use these huge syringes.
Actually I don't use them Mike does, I can't even look.
I get one in each leg and then another drug injection in my stomach.
So far so good no bruising.
After the start up of this drug, I will only take it once a month,
that is sooo much better than once a week.
I am praying it works.

There is hope!

Christmas...

We were so excited for Sam to come home from school,
I told him I had put the the tree up all by myself...
he was not impressed!
I guess this was an off year.

Sam was at least excited for the rest of Christmas,
Mike got another big map... he loves them.
Luckily he hangs them in his office.

We had to keep the tradition of the Christmas Mess.

Christmas Evening we went to Temple Square.
It was a perfect thing to do, not many people there
and we could be reminded of  the true meaning of Christmas!

We ended the day with hot cocoa, treats and games.

Christmas Eve

We were blessed to spend Christmas Eve with my sister and her family.
We had a delicious dinner followed by the Nativity with her darling grandchildren.

We played the favorite game of passing envelopes while
"Twas the Night before Christmas"
was read.  It was most entertaining with the kids!
What a fun night!

We hurried home to skype with our favorite Missionary and favorite daughter and husband.
It was a perfect Christmas Eve!
